‘Odumeje’ Failed To Remove Illegal Structures On Waterways – Soludo

A part of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry Church belonging to Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere aka ‘Odumeje’ was demolished because he failed to remove the structures on waterways.

The governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo, stated this through his chief press secretary, Christian Aburime.

Odumeje was during the demolition tortured by members of the state taskforce on environment as was displayed in a viral video.

According to a statement Soludo’s chief of staff, the demolished structures were marked for demolition since April, 2022.

It read, “Following the expiration of the more than two weeks’ notice beginning from April 2022 served on developers and building owners who built several illegal structures along the waterways in Fegge and environs within Onitsha, Anambra state government has begun demolition of such structures.

“The exercise, which is being carried out by a joint government taskforce, commenced the exercise from Bida road by Modebe Avenue, Fegge Onitsha.

“The affected buildings include Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministries, shops and other perimeter fences.

“The structures were marked since April 2022 and all developers and building owners were served notice to remove such illegal structures.”

Meanwhile, Prophet Oharaemere has said it was only a part of his church that was demolished.

He stated this on his Facebook page.

According to him, “I was beaten up, humiliated by agents of government even though my church did not block the waterways.

“They demolished the fence, the security post, the store house; my church is far away from the designated waterways.

“You can see it here. You can verify yourself. My church is intact. It was not demolished. They only demolished the fence which did not block the waterways too.”
