About 100 shops are billed to be demolished at Ochanja Market in Onitsha, the state government.said on Friday.
Adadareporters was told that the shops marked for demolition were built without official approvals.
Other affected ones did not pass integrity test, a government official said, adding that some others ‘are structurally deficient’, and therefore pose a great threat to humanity.
The state commissioner for trade and commerce, Dr Obinna Ngonnadi, is the leader of the state government’s demolition squad.
