Breaking: Dancing Senator Adeleke Wins Osun Guber

The Independent National Electoral Commission, Sunday morning, formally
declared Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of the governorship election held in Osun State.

Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, INEC’s chief returning officer, announced the result.

According to him, the PDP candidate Adeleke scored 403,371 votes to emerge the winner. APC’s candidate and incumbent governor Gboyega Oyetola polled 375,027 votes to come second.

Ogundipe stated that, “I hereby declare that Ademola Adeleke, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected.”

Adadainfo gathered that the PDP won in the majority of the state’s local governments, having clinched 17 of Osun’s 30 local governments while the APC won in 13.

None of the other 13 candidates who contested in the election won in any local government.

Fifteen political parties partitpated in the election held on Saturday across the 30 local governments of Osun.

Recall that in 2018, Gov Oyetola defeated Adeleke.

Adeleke will be sworn in in November when the tenure of Mr Oyetola will elapse.
