Enugu Driver Sets Own Car Ablaze To Celebrate Kanu’s Victory At Appeal Court

A yet-to-be-identified driver reportedly set his commercial vehicle ablaze in Enugu after the Appeal Court delivered a judgement discharging Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanu is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, and was renditioned from Kenya to Nigeria last year. He is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services.

According to THE Sun, the man had ‘earlier made a vow to carry out the act if Nnamdi Kanu is released from detention’.

According to the newspaper, following Thursday’s judgment, the man fulfilled his vow by driving to the location, disembarking from the vehicle and setting it on fire after dousing it with petrol’.

The report said the act was allegedly carried out at Onitsha South Mass Transit bus park, opposite Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu.
