Dr Hyginus Chinweuba Onah, an electoral observer covering the 2023 elections, has praised President Muhammadu Buhari for the transparency of the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Onah, a lawyer, told journalists at Ozalla-Ezimo in Udenu LGA of Enugu State during the polls that although it was too early to conclude, but the transparency had been overwhelming.
In his words, “We’ve two polling units here. This is Ozalla-Ezimo Village Hall. Today is a date with destiny. Many have cast their votes and remained behind until the result is declared.
“The enthusiasm is the new spirit in Nigeria. Nigerians have admitted that they have suffered for a long time. They want to exploit the little light at the end of the tunnel.
“Election is the only single way Nigerians can determine who governs them. For now, there is credibility. I am an observer under the Guild of Public Affairs Analysts of Nigeria.
“Buhari has given his parting gift to Nigerians. We still wait when results are announced officially to make the conclusion, but so far, so good. With what we see now, we are happy.
“If this standard is sustained, in the next eight years, Nigeria will equal Western countries because we shall have the best leaders in the saddle.”
