One Mr Nelson Achukwu, a former lawmaker in Anambra State, was Wednesday beheaded by his abductors after his family paid N15m for his release.
The deceased, a physically challenged, was earlier abducted about two months ago, and got released. He was accused of assisting the military in tackling insurgency in the state.
His latest abduction which resulted in his beheading was about two weeks ago. He hailed from Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state.
The deceased is the owner of Nelly Oil & Gas Filling Station at Utuh.
The state police public relations officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident.
He said, “The police will not relent in investigating the incident.”
