Gov Umahi Wins APC Ticket For Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone

The governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi, Friday, won the senatorial ticket for Ebonyi South Senatorial district of Ebonyi State ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Gov Umahi had contested the presidential ticket of the APC in the party’s convention held on Tuesday. Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu won the contest.

In the earlier primaries for the senatorial ticket of the party held in the state, Gov Umahi’s younger brother, Chief Austin Umahi, had emerged the winner. However, the primary election, which held two weeks ago, was cancelled by the party’s hierarchy.

The re-contest took place Thursday, where Gov Umahi emerged victorious.
