Talent hunt and youth empowerment top the agenda during the fourth investiture awards being organized by the Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioners UK.
According to the president of CIEPUK, Amb Professor Marcel Ezenwoye, the theme of the event is ‘Sustainable Youth Capacity Development’. The event, he said, holds at the Nigeria National Merit Award Secretariat in Abuja on 25th August, 2022 at 10am.
Ezenwoye said the event would also witness the graduation of students of Postgraduate Diploma in Education of the institute, induction of the institute’s new fellows and members into its hall of fame, Seefund launch, and awards to CIEPUK winners, among others.
Some agencies expected to feature during the event are the Central Bank of Nigeria, ministries of youths and education, NYSC, National Youth Council of Nigeria, WAEC, NAPTIP, NDE, BOI, BOA, Social Development Secretariat of FCT, and SMEDAN, the organisers said.
Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, will also be among top recipients of the institute’s coveted awards at the event.
Prof Ezenwoye added, “Mr Peter Obi is the special guest of honour. We shall also honour him, believing that he will also tap from the intellectual capacity of our institute, which cuts across all disciplines.
“It will be chaired by Prof Adamu Adamu, federal minister of education, and the chief launcher is Prof Pauline Tallen, minister of women’s affairs.”
Our correspondent reports that the royal father of the event is Dr Talilu Bala Usman, Emir of Nasarawa.
The initiative, according to Prof Ezenwoye, is to galvanise ‘our youths to be more pragmatic, result-oriented, self-sustaining, patriotic, and above all champion the rebirth of the Nigeria our dream’. He said the focus of the institute is the enthronement of pragmatic education for the total development of man.
