Ahead of next week’s Eid-El Kabir celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Friday, said the corps had put necessary measures to checkmate crimes and criminalities in the state.
To this end, the state commandant of the corps, Mr Isidore Chukwudi Chikere, ordered the deployment of all operational resources and adequate security personnel drawn from the corps’ Counter Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandalism Squad, Agro Rangers Squad, Rapid Respond Squad, the Armed Squad, Special Female Squad as well as Disaster Management officers and under-cover operatives to man key points across the state.
This was contained in a statement by the corps’ PRO, DSC Edwin Okadigbo.
According to him, “Personnel deployed for this assignment are to be civil but firm and conduct themselves in the most professional manner.
“The command urges all well-meaning members of the public to report any suspicious movement/objects to the nearest security formation as the corps will collaborate with other sister security agencies and all critical stakeholders to ensure that the celebration is peaceful.”
