The running mate of Labour Party’s party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, will be unveiled today, Adadareporters can confirm.
He is Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, LP’s national chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, said.
Baba-Ahmed is the founder of Baze University, Abuja, and Baba-Ahmed University, Kano.
He was an aspirant for the presidential primaries of the PDP. He was to be unveiled Thursday, but for Mr Obi’s travel to Maiduguri and flight miscalculation, LP said.

Sen Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed is 46. He was a member of the House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007 He was elected senator for Kaduna North in April 2011 running on the Congress for Progressive Change. He sponsored important legislation in a very short time.
Baba-Ahmed has a BSc and MSc in economics from the University of Maiduguri, an MBA from the University of Wales, Cardiff, and in 2006, he obtained his PhD at the University of Westminster.
After his service year at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Dr Ahmed worked as projects coordinator, Baze Research and Data Services Ltd, and as officer II in the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company, Lagos.
He was a banking officer, First Bank of Nigeria Plc, from July 1997 to Dec 1998. He then came back to become the managing director of Baze Research and Data Services Ltd in July 1999 – January 2003, before venturing into politics.
In 2011, Sen Baba-Ahmed founded Baze University in Abuja.
The emergence of Base University, he said, was ‘to contribute towards fixing the education system in order for Nigeria to realize its potentials and address various challenges’.
In 2015, Sen Yusuf Baba-Ahmed was appointed chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Hope Alive Foundation – which campaigns for post-service economic survival of corps members who suffered permanent disability during service.
He is presently pro-chancellor of Baze University; managing director, Baze Research & Data Service Ltd; and chairman, Baze Construction Ltd.
His companies have over 1000 people in their employ.
