The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Tuesday, charged Gov Hope Uzodimma of Imo State to disband the Ebubeagu security outfit in the state.
This followed the killing of about fourteen youths allegedly by Ebebeagu after a wedding in the state on Sunday.
Uzodimma has however said they were bandits, and killed by the operatives of the Department of State Services in the state.
The position of MASSOB was made by its leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, in Owerri.
The statement reads: “These killings of innocent citizens is one of the several, uncountable and secret killings of our people by government-backed Ebubeagu. They are primarily established as a witch-hunting outfit to fight political enemies and non-violence pro Biafra agitators.”
Ohanaeze Youth Council had earlier warned Gov Uzodimma to check the excesses of Ebubeagu in the state or be ready for a revolt.
OYC stated this through its national president, Igboayaka O. Igboayaka.
According to him, “We are using this opportunity to advise the governor to look deeply into the activities of Ebubeagu before it will lead to massive resistance of Ndi-Imo and Ndigbo at large.”
