The Nasarawa State Government has directed the closure of schools in the state.
The decision is to forestall any security breach and protect students.
The decision was taken after an expanded executive council meeting in Government House, Lafia on Wednesday.
Briefing the press on the development the state Commissioner for Education Hajia Fatujimaita Sabo said that the decision is apt due to its proximity to the Federal Capital Territory.
It will be recalled that the Federal Capital Territory had taken a similar decision following security breaches and threats.
According to the Commissioner, the decision does not affect students in exit classes.
