An unidentified motorcyclist was Sunday killed by an unmarked trailer in Anambra.
The incident happened opposite Basco Hotel, Ihiala, by Owerri road expressway around 16:45hrs, Federal Road Safety Commission, Anambra State, said.
Margaret B Onabe, the state acting sector public education officer of the commission, said, “The probable cause of the crash is loss of control as a result of excessive speed.”
An eyewitness, on condition of anonymity, said the driver of ‘the trailer was on high speed, lost control, hit and crushed the motorcylist beyond recognition and didn’t stop’.
Our correspondent gathered that three male adults were involved in the crash. The other two did not sustain any injuries.
The FRSC rescue team from RS5.34, Ihiala, deposited the remains of the dead victim at our Lady of Lourdes’ mortuary, Ihiala.
Meanwhile, the sector commander, FRSC, Anambra State, Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, while commiserating with the family of the deceased, warned motorists to avoid over-speed and ensure they keep to recommended speed limits.
