The resident pastor, Throne Room Parish, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Abuja, Pastor Tunde Benjamins-Laniyi, has advised Nigerians to obtain their permanent voters’ cards and elect credible leaders during the 2023 general elections.
Pastor Benjamins-Laniyi stated this at a thanksgiving service of the church held in Abuja weekend.
According to him, the change Nigerians are yearning for can only be achieved through the power of the ballot.
He said, “Nigerians should reject the old order and go the way of the Lord in the 2023 general elections to move the country forward.
“Nigerians should ensure that they don’t waste their votes in the forthcoming presidential election. The change Nigerians desired is possible through the ballot come 2023.”
The Jamaican high commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Desmond Reid, who was at the event, advised Nigerian electorate to use their voting power to elect visionary leaders in 2023.
Reid said that his country and Nigeria share a lot of historical connections, and thanked God for 60 years of Jamaica’s independence.
He said the events marking the celebration of the Independence would be hosted in Abuja and Lagos ‘to showcase the finest aspects of our culture and economic developments’.
Personalities that graced the event include diplomats drawn from Mexico, Israel, Rwanda, Bulgaria and Venezuela.
They thanked God for the peace and progress recorded in Jamaica in the past 60 years.
