Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna State, Wednesday, denied takeover of Kaduna-Zaria road by bandits.
Samuel Aruwan, state commissioner for ministry of internal security and home affairs, stated this in a release made available to Adadainfo in Kaduna.
According to Aruwan, “The Kaduna State government urges citizens to disregard the report completely. It is an obvious attempt to spread panic.
“The Kaduna State government assures all citizens and travellers that the Kaduna-Zaria route is safe for travel. Residents are urged to go about their normal activities and pay no attention to the false report.”
Hundreds of rail travellers on Kaduna-Abuja route were killed while some were held hostage by kidnappers some months ago.
