The newly established Maduka University College, Ekwegbe-Nsukka, in Enugu State is different from other secondary schools because of its entrepreneurial base.
The principal of the school, Mr Kenneth Eze, stated this Wednesday in an interview with Adadainfo. According to him, the philosophy of the college is to build a child with entrepreneurial skills even before venturing into higher institutions or learning specialised trades.
Quoting him, “In this college, we hold entrepreneurship as priority. We believe that a child who has come through this school should be equipped with skills to be able to contribute to the economic development of society. The child should be useful to him or herself, as well as the society at large through positive contributions of talents to societal growth.
“Our edge is that we have an entrepreneurial foundation in addition to education curricular as specified by the regulatory bodies.”
Our correspondent gathered that the college currently holds her entrance examination into JS1 and SS1 for the 2022/2023 academic session at the school premises along Enugu-Nsukka new road, Igbo-Etiti LGA, Enugu State.
A release from the college states that Maduka University College is a non-profit making institution with top-notch sports facilities, emphasises entrepreneurial skills, such as animal and crop production, garment designing, creative arts, electronics; and runs all-inclusive education.
According to the release, “The college boasts of experienced teachers, teaches foreign languages, including Chinese; runs robotics technology course, has high-tech security system, embarks on family-oriented monitoring and mentoring, organises local and international excursions, has fully air-conditioned facilities, as well as state-of-the-arts health and laboratories.”
The college, it was gathered, is an arm of Maduka University situated in over 500 hectares of land. It is owned by business mogul Dr Samuel Maduka Onyishi, the chairman of Peace Group.
