Return To Work, Court Orders ASUU

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities were Wednesday ordered to call off their seven-months’ industrial action.

The order was given by the National industrial court of Nigeria (NICN) which sat in Abuja. The federal government had dragged ASUU to the court with prayers to compel ASUU to return to
work.

ASUU went on strike on 14th Feb 2022 over the failure of the federal government to abide by the agreements it signed with the union.

FG’s counsel James Igwe prayed the court for an interlocutory injunction restraining ASUU from taking further steps as regards the strike until the determination of the substantive suit.
