Eighty-four-old Stephen Jack has been arrested by the police for raping a girl, aged eight.
This was announced by the Ogun State Police Command. The command’s police public relations officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect resides at Okun Owa area of Ijebu-Ode.
Our correspondent gathered that the father of the victim reported the case to the police following alleged damage done to her daughter’s private part by Mr Jack.
The police image-maker said the eight-year-old had been taken to General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode, for treatment.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner of police, Mr Lanre Bankole, has ordered that Jack be taken to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
