The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says its missing official in Anambra State has been found dead.
The deceased is Mr Osita Duruocha, principal executive officer II on Grade Level 10. He was declared missing some days ago.
The confirmation was made by the INEC national spokesperson, Mr Festus Okoye. It was gathered that his corpse was found along Isu-Aniocha-Urum road in Awka North Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Duruocha’s remains were dumped by unknown persons, Mr Okoye said.
According to him, “Other staff members of the commission, Duruocha’s brother and the police have evacuated the body and deposited same in the morgue.
“The police and other security agencies have commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to Duruocha’s disappearance and eventual death.”
