The Ohanaeze Youth Council, Monday, called on former Imo governor Emeka Ihedioha to drum support for the 2023 presidential bid of Labour Party’s candidate Mr Peter Obi rather than ‘betray Ndigbo’.
The national president of the council, Comrd Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, while addressing newsmen in Enugu, charged ‘Ihedioha to denounce his selfish political interest and embrace the collective interest of South-East and Ndigbo in general’.
He described Ihedioha as ‘an unrepentant political betrayer in his bid to pull down Mr Peter Obi to satisfy his principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Atiku is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
According to him, “Emeka Ihedioha has chosen the road of slavery than the path of freedom. He should earnestly quit from washing the pants of his political cronies in Sokoto and relocate back home.
“Emeka Ihedioha is playing politics with interest of Ndigbo. His apology is a mere make-belief to distract our attention. The gift we must collectively give Emeka Ihedioha in Imo State is to make him politically redundant and orphan.
“A person who sabotages Ndigbo must have learnt a historical lesson, and such lesson must be to send him to political oblivion.”
Comrade Igboayaka warned Igbo politicians to support Obi or steer clear of the 2023 political gambling.
