The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has insisted that it will support it’s own presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Prof. Peter Umeadi.
Rising from a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party held on Tuesday, October 4, at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Ike Oye, indexed the opportunities and challenges the party is likely to face in the oncoming elections, and stressed that despite all challenges, APGA is going to triumph.
The APGA chairman, who reiterated his confidence that the party is doing very well in many states, and will definitely win more seats in various elections nationwide, further analyzed that the possibility of any party winning presidential election is dependent only on the ability of the party getting 25% of votes cast in 2/3 (two third) of the 36 states of the federation.
He also elucidated how the case of Chekwas Okorie and Edozie Njoku was summarily dealt with, reiterating that there is only one APGA headed by himself, Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye, and does not have any faction. He added that Edozie Njoku would soon end up in jail “for all the atrocities he committed.”
He eulogized the NWC of the party for being ever bonded, and prayed that they would remain bonded and synergized.
Oye, who also said that the party has evaluated the outcome of the various primaries done throughout the country, and the preparedness of the party in various states to prosecute the 2023 elections, expressed satisfaction with the outing of the former First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano.
He said that Mrs Obiano has the capacity to prosecute the Anambra North senatorial election victoriously, because, according to him, she has done so much for the people of Anambra State in various aspects of humanitarian provisions and benevolence.
He also stated that Abia State gubernatorial seat is as good as won because, according to him, the gubernatorial candidate , Professor Greg Ibeh, is amazingly acceptable, and a philanthropist who is God fearing and has all it takes to win.
For Enugu State, he expressed satisfaction with the performance of the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Frank Nweke junior, and Hon Uche Nwegbo, running for Senate.
He also expressed confidence that the party would do well in Delta, Akwa Ibom, Imo, among other states
