The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, has urged the new chairman of Anambra State Football Association, Chikelue Iloenyosi, to use his wealth of experience as ex-international to make Anambra State football great.
Bishop Ezeokafor gave the advice while playing host to Iloenyosi at St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka.
The bishop enjoined him to put in the same zeal that saw him play for all the categories of the Nigeria national teams including U-17, U-19, U-20, U-23, Olympic Eagles and Super Eagles to work as the state FA chairman.
He said football activities would redirect the youths and he assured that the church would colaborate and assist the FA in their activities.
Chikelue Iloenyosi thanked the bishop for finding time to receive him and for all the advice he gave him.
He highlighted various activities he has undertaken within the first three months of his assumption of office, which include a memorial service for late footballers and administrators of Anambra State extraction.
He assured Bishop Ezeokafor that he would never disappoint him as regards the expectations.
Iloenyosi was accompanied on the visit by Dumebi Onubiyi- LFC (LFC Njikoka), Comrade Abuchi Onwumelu, KSJI, Anipr, (LFC Idemili North), Ifeanyi Ojukwu (SSA to the chairman) and Ikemefuna Asika – media officer.
