The Kaduna Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), some corporate bodies and individuals were on Sunday, 13 November 2022, given awards for their services to humanity.
Receiving the award on behalf of state NUJ, Comrade Gambo Santos Sanga, the council secretary, thanked the organizers of the occasion for considering the union among those deemed worthy to be honoured.
He said that the union would continue to collaborate with genuine peace builders, such as the AMJ Entertainment, in order to promote lasting peace not just in Kaduna State but the nation in general.
He assured the African Michael Jackson, AKA the Green Panther, of the council’s readiness to collaborate with him in the adequate reportage of his events
Speaking on behalf of the chairman of the event, Hon Faisal Lawal, Hon Nuhu Danladi said that there was need for unity, especially when it comes from the youths.
He said that Hon Faisal Lawan, who was a vice chairman of Owerre Municipal during the administration of Senator Rochas Okorocha as governor of Imo State, proved that Nigeria is one and must not be divided based on religion or ethnicity.
Speaking to newsmen, African Michael Jackson, whose real name is David Obama Geoman, thanked God for the success of the event, adding that a half of the proceeds of the event would be channeled towards helping the less privileged children in two identified orphanages in Kaduna.
He added that he will continue to preach peace as he is a peace ambassador and he will continue to show concerns about the peace of not just Kaduna, Nigeria and the world at large.
Among those honoured are the deputy governor of Kaduna State, Jami’iyyar Matan Arewa; Nigeria Police Force Kaduna Command and the former Emir of Kano.
