Hon Ekpe Ogbu, the kidnapped commissioner for housing and urban development, Benue State, has regained his freedom, police say.
Our correspodent reported that Ogbu was kidnapped alongside his driver and in-law on Sunday after attending a function hosted by Benue senator Abba Moro at Oturkpo.
Police sources said the embattled commissioner and his co-abductees were released around 3:30pm on Tuesday. They were released along the same road where they were kidnapped, our correspodent gathered.
The commissioner of police in Benue State, Mr Wale Abass, said that no ransom was paid.
He told newsmen that, “It is true that the people have been released and they are on their way home.”
