Mr Godwin Emefiele, suspended Central Bank governor, was Tuesday granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
The embattled CBN governor was charged with two-count of illegal possession of firearms by the Department of State Services.
Justice Nicolas Oweibo granted him bail in the sum of N20 million and a surety in like sum.
Our correspondent reports that Emefiele had been in the DSS custody for over a month. His lawyer, Mr Joseph Daudu, SAN, had applied for his bail after his client pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
Daudu argued that the offence for which Emefiele was changed is bailable.
Emefiele was brought to the court at 9.23am in a white Hillux pick-up van, with the number plates covered.
Emefiele, on arrival, was assisted into the courtroom by a female, whose identity is unknown.
