IPOB: Ignore Fraudsters, Sit-At-Home Dead, Buried – Ejiofor

Monday sit-at-home is dead and buried, and residents of South East should ‘reject the dangerous tendencies of criminal elements using the revered name of #MNK to dupe the gullible and vulnerable’.

Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a leading counsel to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the Indigenous People of Biafra, stated this in a post on his Facebook page on Sunday.

According to Ejiofor, “The Oracle #MNK himself has spoken. Even if it’s hitherto voluntarily observed, our people are advised to critically assess the unquantifiable damages arising therefrom, and wisely welcome this unequivocal pronouncement by #MNK totally canceling any form of sit-at-home, and reject the dangerous tendencies of criminal elements using the revered name of #MNK to dupe the gullible and vulnerable.”

MNK stands for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB. Sit-at-home was declared by his faithful to pressure his release by the federal government. Kanu is being detained at the custody of the State Services, Abuja, over alleged running a proscribed group, jumping bail and treason. He was arrested in Kenya, and renditioned to Nigeria, a procedure Nigeria’s Court of Appeal in Abuja described as ‘extraordinary rendition’ in its ruling before discharging and acquitting Kanu. However, the order was not implemented with the federal government appealing for stay of execution at the Supreme Court.

Ejiofor, while reaffirming the ‘death and burial’ of the order, stated that, “Before it was warships parked at the banks of river Benue and river Niger; then, it was Biafra coming in 150 days; now it is donors for a phantom two weeks’ sit-at-home palliative. Before you donate, ask yourself, where and places any imaginary sit-at-home was observed.

“Let our people put on their thinking caps, and resist these serial fraudsters whose sole aim is to exploit their undying love for Biafra and #MNK. Biafrans are gifted with wisdom and can no longer be subjects of violent manipulation.”

The politics of sit-at-home made headlines when the styled prime minister of Biafran Republican Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa, began to order incessant sit-at-home across South-east states, including a two-week sit-at-home that Ekpa declared from July 31 to August 14.

Kanu’s special counsel, Barr Aloy Ejimakor, had on July 24 in Enugu, released the IPOB leader’s hand-written letter which ordered an end to sit-at-home. Kanu also warned Ekpa to desist from issuing such orders as they destroy the economy of Ndigbo.

Ekpa however countered the letter, claiming that it was fake. Ekpa’s two-weeks’ order was however not observed.
