The Enugu State government, Tuesday, launched its Distress Response Squad to fight crimes in the state.
The event took place during the visit of the state police commissioner, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, to Gov Peter Mbah at the Enugu Government House.
CP Uzuegbu used the occasion to assure the governor ‘of enhanced public security, safety and flushing unrepentant criminals out of the state’.
The highlight of the visit was the launching of the state government’s Distress Response Squad (DRS), ‘with the first batch of 20 vehicles received by the CP from the state government’.
During the event, newly promoted police officers serving in Government House, Enugu, were decorated with their new ranks by the governor and the commissioner, it was gathered.
