The era of Chief Nyesom Wike as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory will be characterised by myriads of litigations in courts.
Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra, predicted this on Wednesday in a post that has generated many reactions.
Recall that under Wike as Rivers governor, many pro-Biafra youths were killed at Obigbo in what later became tagged #ObigboMassacre.
Ejiofor wrote, “FCT High Court will soon be inundated with litigations that will herald this infamous despotic unguarded declaration under the new regime. #ObigboMassacre
“Certainly, FCT is not Rivers State where even judicial officers may be intimidated. Lawyers should also fasten their seatbelts for the festival of cases that will be given birth by the anarchical path soon to be taken by the new FCT emperor.”
Wike had on assumption of office described himself as ‘New Sheriff in Town’, adding that, “It is not going to be business as usual. Those distorting Abuja master plan: if you build where you are not supposed to, the building will go down.
“If you build on a green area, sorry, it will go down. Those who were allocated land and refused to develop them, we will revoke such lands and re-allocate them to those who are ready to develop them.”
Tony Onyebuchi, in a reaction, said, “That’s what happens when a drunkard finds himself in the corridors of power. The rule of law must prevail if any.”
Sonny Abacha posted, “No one owns the courts… Wike is right…those contravening established plans, regulations and green zones …will hear it. Let the brief case lawyers…get ready.”
Equalism Okorie wrote, “I think Tinubu intentionally put Wike there to punish Abuja residents for not giving him 25%.”
For Prince Joseph, “The blood of innocent Biafrans mascared in Obi Igbo will lead Wike to his end. #FreeMaziNnamdiKanuNow.”
