Police operatives in Ebonyi State have arrested three suspected hoodlums who allegedly kidnapped an inspector attached to Police College, Enugu, Mr Ogbonnaya Oliver, and a community leader, Mr Paul Ngara, of Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area of the state.
A statement by the state police public relations officer, Mrs Onome Onovwakpoyeya, gave the names of the suspected kidnappers as Elochukwu Ojukwu, Busa Iliyasu and Umaru Ahijo.
She said the operatives tracked the suspects in their hideout in a forest between Amata Ishiagu and Lokpanta in Abia State where the victims were rescued after a shootout.
The PPRO said one of the hoodlums was shot dead while items recovered from them include two AK 47 rifles, one long double barrel gun, forty five AK 47 live ammunition and seventy live cartridges.
