Veteran broadcaster, Mr Kelvin Ugwu, is dead. Kelvin, from Umundu in Udenu LGA of Enugu State, reportedly died after a brief illness.
A actor of a repute, Kelvin, former news presenter with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, worked briefly as a broadcaster at Enugu State Broadcasting Corporation before going national.
Meanwhile, his Umundu community, our correspondent gathered, has been thrown into mourning.
Celestine Eze, a stakeholder in the community, said, “I can’t believe this! Kelvin is the least person I expect to die. He was calm, gentle and a preacher of peace. Good night the golden voice of Umundu.”
Offor Ezema said, “The entire radio world has lost another gem. Kelvin recently retired, and one wonders why death came calling so soon. He recently celebrated his 60th birthday.”
