Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has directed his team of lawyers to appeal the judgement of the Court of Appeals, Abuja, which affirmed that President Bola Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election.
Recall that the presidential election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja had dismissed Obi’s claim that his votes were suppressed by the Independent National Electoral Commission in favour of Tinubu.
Obi’s lead counsel, Dr Livy Uzoukwu, SAN, told newsmen that the former Anambra governor had instructed him to approach the Supreme Court for a possible overturn of the ruling of the Court of Apeals.
He said, “We have firm instructions from our client to appeal the decision. If Nigerians are not careful, electoral jurisprudence will disappear. History will vindicate the just.”
