Chief Stephen Ejiofor Ìyídà, the Igwe-elect of the proposed Obede autonomous community in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Tuesday, commended Gov Peter Mbah for breaking the jinx of potable water in the state capital.
Chief Iyida, who spoke at his country home, said Dr Mbah had shown capacity and commitment towards enthroning a radical change that would make Enugu State the envy of other states across the federation. According to him, “there has been a drift from the old trajectories to the realities under Gov Mbah’.
“Mbah came prepared,” Ìyídà said, adding that, “I urge Ndị Enugu to give him the necessary support to turn around our fortunes. I further call on our youths to key into Gov Mbah’s empowerment schemes, and shun anti-social activities that would distract Mbah’s people-oriented administration.
“May I further commend him for scaling up security in the state. It will go along way in attracting investors both within and outside the state. I therefore urge local government chairmen of 17 LGAs in the state to re-energise various neighbourhood watch groups at the community level to return the state to its former glory which Gov Mbah champions.”
Iyida, who is also the CEO of Gburugburu Hospital and Maternity, further appealed to Gov Mbah to approve the proposed Obede autonomous community, which he described as ‘peaceful, homogeneous, industrious and productive in both human and agro sectors’.
