Chief Chidozie Aloysius Ogbonna (Jnr) has emerged the Igwe-elect of Ogugu Ntuegbenesse community in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Chief Ogbonna, popularly called Ikemba, emerged with a majority vote of 867 after a keenly contested election monitored by the state authorities, and adjudged free and fair. His election was greeted with pomp and celebration as it marked the first time the community would have a prospective traditional ruler since almost 24 years. Our correspondent reports that the last time the community had a traditional ruler was in 2000.
Chief Ogbonna, a South-African based business mogul, is of reputable character and a philanthropist par exellence.
According to a source in the community, “Chief Ogbonna possesses a unique blend of entrepreneurial acumen and a commitment to community development. He approaches leadership as a collaborative endeavor, emphasizing the importance of hard work over mere authority.
