Police recovered corpses of a yet-to-be-identified couple dumped in the boot of a car suspected to be theirs in Anambra, our reporter gathered Wednesday.
They were found by passersby at a desolate location along the Tempo junction, Umunya axis, along Enugu-Onitsha expressway.
They were dumped in a dark-coloured Toyota Corolla with its doors wide open. The blood dripping from beneath the vehicle’s trunk suggests that the victims were freshly murdered, our reporter gathered.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident.
He said police operatives from the Oyi Division recovered the two lifeless bodies and the abandoned vehicle, and deposited the bodies in a mortuary.
He further disclosed that police operatives recovered some expanded cartridges at the scene, a pointer that the suspected couple had signs of violence and gunshot injuries.
He said investigations were ongoing I to the matter.
