The family of the late Corps Assistant I (CAI), Mr Pascal Nnaegbuna, an operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, who died in active service, was, Tuesday, presented with some welfare package by the corps.
The ceremony was performed by the state commandant of the corps, Mr Maku Olatunde, in Awka.
Commdt Olatunde said the package was in line with NSCDC’s prioritization of the welfare of its operatives and their dependants.
He expressed gratitude to the scheme. He also commended the commandant general of the corps, Commdt Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for his efforts in improving the welfare of personnel of the corps. He urged the beneficiary to make judicious use of the fund for their well-being.
A release from the PRO of the state command, Edwin Okadigbo, quoted Mr Maku as saying that, “This generous act demonstrates the commitment of the CG to support the families of officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while in service. The essence is to provide financial support to the families left behind by fallen officers. Aside acknowledging their sacrifices, it also helps to ease the burden they face in the absence of their loved ones.”
Mrs Nnaegbuna, on behalf of the bereaved family, expressed her appreciation to the commandant general for the welfare package and assured that the money would be used prudently.
