Prof Ndili, Former UNN Vice Chancellor, Is Dead

Former Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof Frank Ndili, is dead. He was aged 90.

Born on October 6th, 1934, Prof Ndili is the first African Professor of Nuclear Physics.

His death was announced in a statement signed by his children, Dr Isioma Ndili-Nwokolo, and Dr Amaechi Ndili.

According to the statement, Ndili died on February 13, 2024 ‘peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family and loved ones’.

He is survived by his wife, Dame Edna Ndili; six children and grandchildren, according to the statement.
