The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Tuesday, commended Professor Bart Nnaji, founder of Geometric Power Plant, following Monday’s launch of the plant in Abia State.
The president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, praised the resilience of Nnaji “in spite of the daunting challenges he encountered in the course of pulling the project through”.
According to Chief Iwuanyanwu, “Whoever has solved the electricity problem in Nigeria is a game changer, cosmic agent, and unarguably, the most outstanding Nigerian. Professor Bart Nnaji will go down in history as the most outstanding African engineer.”
He beckoned on various Igbo experts in diverse fields all over the world to emulate the think-home philosophy of Prof Nnaji.
The Ohanaeze leader continued, “In the USA alone, the Igbo have eminent experts of world renown, such as Dr Emmitt McHenry, an American Igbo and computer wizard who developed the .com code for the Internet E-Mails; Philip Emeagwali, the best in computer programming; Professor Charles Ifeanyi Umeh, mechatronics and advanced electronic packaging and laser processing applications; Dr Aloysius Anaebonam, a renowned pharmacist; Emeka Nchekwube, neurological surgeon with four patents in the field of medicine; and Cyprain Emeka Uzoh, patented for the development of electroplated interconnector structures on integrated circuit chips.
“One of the problems of the Third World and indeed Nigeria is the inability to use the best we have for optimum outputs; the inability to make the right choice at critical junctures, and the capitulation to ethnic rivalry even at the risk of national catastrophe.
“Records show that Nigeria recorded an unprecedented quantum leap in electricity supply under Professor Bart Nnaji as the Minister of Power; but he resigned because of the characteristic Nigerian shenanigan.”
Chief Iwuanyanwu further congratulated Governor Alex Otti of Abia State and the good people of Abia State on the launch of Geometric Power Plant in the state, adding that “Geometric Power Plant will help to catalyze his fantastic vision for Abia State”.
Iwuanyanwu expressed hopes that Aba, noted for indigenous manufacturing, resilience, ingenuity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, would take advantage of the unique opportunity.
He advised Prof Nnaji to be undaunted in his desire to transform Igbo land.
