One Anichede Akachukwu, 18, aka Star B, adjudged to be the most wanted criminal in Anambra State, has been arrested.
Akachukwu, a confessed leader of Vikings Secret Cult Confraternity and armed gang terrorizing Ogbaru LGA and Asaba in Delta State, was arrested on 17/5/2024 at Uruagu village, Oba, Idemili South LGA of the state.
His arrest followed a tip-off gathered as he was receiving treatment in their den from a bullet wound sustained in their encounter with police operatives in Asaba, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police PRO, Anambra State, said on Wednesday.
He added that the suspect had provided police with information on their mode of operations and names of other gang members.
Ikenga further revealed that the police on 20/05/2024 at Okija, Ihiala, recovered a white Porsche Cayenne jeep with registration number AGL 60 HJ Lagos.
He said, “During a search of the vehicle, the operatives found a bag and discovered 27 pieces of live 7.62m ammunition, three live cartridges, one-touchlight, charms, and other incriminating items.”
Meanwhile, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has charged the operatives to sustain the tempo and direct continuous onslaught operations aimed to weed out all the criminal elements and eradicate crimes in the state.
