Cartons Of Live Cartridges, Stolen Car Recovered From Suspects In Anambra

Police operatives of the Anambra State Police Command, Friday, announced the recovery of two 50KG bags containing four cartons of 107 pieces of live cartridges after intercepting a shuttle bus at Onitsha.

The success is in line with the Practical Intelligence and tactical-led operations launched by CP Nnaghe Obono Itam.

“The operatives laid ambush on the receipt of information along Port-harcourt Road, Fegge, Onitsha,” the state PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said, adding that, “The convener, on sighting the police, took to his heels before the driver was arrested. The driver is currently undergoing interrogation to guide the investigation.”

Also, police on 23/5/2024 along Creek Road, Fegge, arrested one Kingsley Orji of Okwudo village, Mgbidi, Imo State, and recovered a stolen Lexus RX350 with Reg nos: YAB 912 HR.

SP Ikenga said the vehicle was reported to have been snatched at gunpoint by six armed men along Love Line Assembly, Imo State.

Quoting him, “The suspect confessed to the crime and has made useful information that is assisting in apprehending other gang members.”

Meanwhile, CP Itam has charged the operatives to sustain the onslaught aimed to eliminate criminal elements in the state. He assured Ndi Anambra “of the command’s commitment and utmost confidentiality on every information provided and shall be acted upon”.
