Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, requires hospital attention following revelations of his health complications.
This was disclosed on Wednesday by Kanu’s lead counsel, Barr Aloy Ejimakor, in the aftermath of Kanu’s consultation with his physician today at the DSS headquarters in Abuja.
Ejimakor stated via his X that preliminary reports show that the IPOB leader presented health complications.
Ejimakor wrote, “Today, DSS finally allowed Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s physician to see him. The doctor’s preliminary report presented complex medical conditions that require that #MNK be taken to a hospital for more detailed diagnosis. This will follow a report that will be sent to DG-DSS by the doctor.”
Ejimakor had Tuesday, via his X, lamented the denial of Kanu to see his physician following his failing health.
He had written, “[Monday] during our visitation with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, we found him ill, with shortness of breath, low BP and general malaise.
“For this reason, he requested to see his doctor and we submitted a letter in this regard. Today [Tuesday], the doctor arrived at the DSS but was denied access to #MNK.”
Our correspondent reports that Kanu has been in detention since 2021 after he was renditioned from Kenya to Nigeria.
