Sen Ifeanyi Uba, representing Anambra South in the National Assembly, is dead. Uba, a billionaire oil magnet, died Saturday morning in a London hospital.
He has been in the United Kingdom since he became ill a few weeks ago. The condition became critical in the past 48 hours, it was gathered. The cause of death is not clear as at Saturday morning.
Ubah was elected senator in 2019 on the platform of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, and reelected on that platform in 2023. He defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, earlier this year and has indicated interest to contest the governorship of Anambra State in next year’s election.
Ubah contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election and came fourth in a contest won by Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
