A yet-to-be-identified three-months’ old baby was Tuesday morning found in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
The baby was found in front of Oraukwu Boys’ Technical College, Awka, by a good Samaritan, police said.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the baby was found and brought to Eziowelle Police Station.
Quoting him, “All efforts so far made to locate the parents or relatives of the baby for identification and claim have proved abortive. The police have handed over the baby to the director of the Welfare Department, Idemili North LGA, for safe custody.”
He called on anyone who could identify the baby or assist the police in reuniting the baby with the family “to come forward in this regard please”.
