US Claims Iranian Behind Assassination Attempt On Trump

By Adadareporters

Feelers have emerged claiming that the United States received intelligence about an Iranian plot to kill former President Donald Trump.

According to a CNN report, the plot was uncovered through a human source in recent weeks. It is however not stated if the Trump campaign machinery was alerted to the reported threat.

The revelation was sequel to last weekend’s assassination attempt on Trump, in which a 20-year-old individual fired shots at the former president during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

The Secret Service has increased security around Trump in recent weeks, citing an intelligence threat from a foreign hostile nation.

Iran, however, denied any involvement in the plot. The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations said that Trump is a “criminal” who should be tried and punished for ordering the assassination of General Soleimani in 2020.”

The FBI declined to comment on the matter. Meanwhile, the Trump campaign says it does not comment on the former president’s security detail.

The Secret Service has added protective resources and capabilities to Trump’s security detail, according to agency spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi.

The incident has raised questions about how the 20-year-old individual was able to access a nearby rooftop to fire shots at Trump, despite increased security measures.

Trump’s security team has warned the campaign against holding outdoor rallies, which are considered higher-risk events than indoor events.

The plot has sparked concerns about the safety of political candidates and the potential for foreign interference in the US election process.
