The Anambra State Police Command, Tuesday, ordered investigations into the murder of three persons at Isionye land, a boundary between Enugu Ukwu and Nwafia in Anambra State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday, leaving five others seriously injured.
The state police public relations officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said preliminary information revealed that the victims were lured by some individuals through a phone call to the land in the guise of a land transaction, where they were subsequently attacked with guns and machetes.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has called for calm to avoid further calamities. It was gathered that police operatives had recovered the abandoned Sienna vehicle used by the murderers.
The PPRO stated that, “The testimonies of the injured victims who are currently receiving treatment in the hospital are aiding the investigation while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue.”
