FRSC: Nasarawa Sector Command Commemorates Customer Service Week

Some residents of Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, received free medical services during the Customer Service Week organized by the Federal Road Safety Commission, Nasarawa Sector Command. The event began on 7th and ended on 11th October.

The medical outreach was conducted at Sabon Pegi by health experts drawn from the commission’s clinic at Shabu. The beneficiaries were offered free medical checks and health enlightenment in diabetes mellitus, hypertension, fasting blood sugar, blood pressure checks as well as healthy living tips.

The Customer Service Week is an international celebration of the importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis. It is a nationally recognized event celebrated annually during the first full week in October with this year’s theme as “Above and Beyond”.

The Sector Commander, FRSC, Nasarawa Sector Command, CC Lucie Samuel-Mhii, told our correspondent that FRSC, being a service-oriented organization, keyed in to celebrate its customers that patronize its numerous products and used the medium to read out the Corps Marshal’s appreciation letter to staff on their contributions to the Corps success story.

She said, “Through various activities, we reinforce our commitment to excellent customer services, acknowledged our staff hard work, and engage with the community. We aim to continue enhancing our service delivery based on the valuable feedback collected during the event.”

The highlight of the event included rewarding of some customers, including the first person to process either a driver’s licence or number plate. Flyers for road safety tips were also distributed to motorists during the event.

CC Samuel-Mhii also warned operatives of the commission against engaging in illicit deals, including in processing drivers’ licences. She advised those seeking licences and vehicle plate numbers to identify the appropriate FRSC offices or the board of internal revenue offices in the state to avoid being shortchanged.

She said, “FRSC officials are trained and warned not to engage in such. But in such situations, the victim can report to the nearest command for necessary action.”

Some operatives were also rewarded for their outstanding services in the discharge of their duties.

The sector commander said, “The rewards were done to inspire staff to strive for exceptional customer experience and build a loyal customer base and boost the morale of staff for the significant contributions and success recorded so far.”
