Emene mainland community, Tuesday, appealed to Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State to rehabilitate their street roads which have a combined length of 1.2km.
Adadainfo gathered that the road has been in the budget of the state for two budget cycles, including the current year.
The residents made the appeal during the inauguration of their three developmental committees aimed at aggregating efforts of the residents for common goals.
The committees will also look into our vandalised transformer, which occurred two weeks ago, a resident said.
The chairman of the committee, Chief Emenike Okonkwo, requested the support of the residents of the area to ensure the development of the community.
A member of the committee, on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that, “We are soliciting the help of both Enugu East LGA and the state government towards the uplift of our infrastructure.
“We are ready to go into partnerships with them.”
