A Catholic faithful and worshipper at the Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, who identified herself as Jennifer, Sunday, advised Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka to focus on preaching comforting messages to his congregants, and leave Mr Peter Obi alone.
Obi is the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections. Mbaka, the spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry, located at Emene, Enugu, has been criticised for his political statements. Such led to his suspension from saying Mass. However, the ban was lifted last week by the Catholic bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev Dr Callistus Onaga.
Jennifer described the lifting of the ban as the greatest thing to happen to her of late.
“I get energised spiritually after listening to Mbaka. Since his suspension, I saw listening to other men of God boring. Mbaka has a spiritual spark, which moves like fire.
“Now that the ban is lifted, the time has returned once more. I want to advise Fr Mbaka to concentrate on sermons that will enliven our spirits. He should leave Peter Obi alone.
“Only God knows where Obi is going, but he is widely accepted. Any statement against him may spark protest.”
The ministry was suspended indefinitely on June 18, 2022, by the bishop of Enugu Diocese.
Mbaka, in a reaction after the lifting of the ban, invited his Catholic faithful to today’s Mass, promising them ‘miraculous blessings’.
He posted, “Dear Adorer, to the glory of God. Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria starts on Sunday 2nd October, 2022 with 10am Mass at the Adoration ground, Umuchigbo, Iji Nike, Emene, Enugu State.
“God bless you miraculously as you come to worship God with us.”
