Residents of Umugwu Orba in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Monday, pleaded with Udenu and Enugu State governments to come to their rescue over their worsening road situation.
When our correspodent visited the community, the residents were seen manually fixing some bad portions of the road.
“This is the worst road in Enugu State. It damages our vehicles daily. Some days, vehicles are stuck here. It is unbearable. We beg both the state and local governments to help us,” one of the residents, who identified his name as John, said.
Another one, on condition of anonymity, said, “We manually carry out the repairs on this road almost on a weekly basis. This road is hell, especially when it rains. We don’t know what to do. I doubt how politicians would want us to vote for them when they have no regards for us.”
Our correspodent reports that the community has over one thousands residents, comprising civil servants, traders and farmers. The road is about four kilometres.
