Anambra: Woman Killed By Her Nephew Over Domestic Issues

One Miss Abumchukwu Nwaofo, in her fifties, has been allegedly killed by her nephew at Umuokpu-Village, Awka in Awka South local government area of Anambra State.

Our correspodent gathered that she was allegedly killed in the evening hours of Monday, 7th November, 2022.

An eyewitness, on condition of anonymity, said the woman was killed by her brother’s son over domestic issues.

It was gathered that the youths of the village were notified of the incident through the outcry of the sister of the deaseaed.

The villagers, through the help of the president general, reported the incident to the Central Police Station, Awka, and later took the body of the deaseaed to the mortuary.

The elder brother to the deaseaed, Mr Ndubueze Nwaofor, said that he and his sister had been in the court with his younger brother who killed the deceased over family matters.

He claimed that his late sister told him that the younger brother and his wife had earlier threatened to kill her.

Mr Nwaofor called on security agencies to carry out their investigations and bring justice to the matter.

The alleged killer of Miss Abumchukwu Nwaofor, Master Uchechukwu Nwaofor, who was caught at about 2am at a club house at Amawobia by youths of the village, confessed to have killed his aunt with the directive of his father.

The police public relations officer of the state police command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident. He said investigations had commenced and the suspect.

Adadareporters.com reports that the deaseaed, who was brutally cut with a matchet, was said to be a level sixteen officer working for the NIPOST.
