Kanunta Kanu, a brother to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Tuesday, said his purported suspension by the pro-Biafra group does not hold water because the person championing his suspension has no locus standi to initiate such actions.
IPOB had on Monday announced Kanunta’s suspension. He was accused of reporting some IPOB members to the police, among other infractions.
His suspension was signed by one Chinedu Collins, reportedly the national coordinator of the group in Germany.
Collins had further accused Kanunta of forming a parallel leadership in Germany and flouting the group’s code of conduct.
He was accused of ‘imposing and parading an expelled IPOB member, Mr Ogbenna Abraham, as the new national coordinator in Germany with the sole intent to cause division within the existing structure in Germany’.
The accused debunked the accusations via his verified Twitter handle.
He stated that, “I am born for a day like this. Kanunta Kanu is very much around.”
According to him, Nnamdi Kanu had expelled Chinedu Collins last year, adding that he was replaced by one Mr Ogbenna Abraham.
Quoting him, “This is to inform the general public that Mr Collins Chinedu was officially expelled from IPOB family Germany by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on 28:11:2022 through Aloy Ejimakor.
“And his successor is Mazi Ogbonna Abraham.”
